ProgressionRetrain the selected skill for each next rank

Skill prestige lets you restart one skill after reaching its XP target to gain a permanent bonus and Prestige Points. All 23 skills have ten ranks, from P1 to P10. Your earned bonus remains active while you train that skill again.

Prestiging resets only the selected skill to level 1 and 0 XP. Hitpoints resets to level 10 and 1,154 XP. Your other skills keep their levels. Plan to retrain equipment and activity requirements after the reset.

How to prestige a skill

  1. Open Skill Prestige in the Sarim client sidebar. The Sarim Skill Prestige plugin is enabled by default; enable it in plugin settings if its button is missing.
  2. Select a skill and check its current XP, next rank, permanent reward and Prestige Point award. Milestones & XP lists the requirements for your XP difficulty.
  3. Reach the listed XP target, return to Home, leave combat and remove all equipped items.
  4. Click Prestige to P1 or the next available rank. Read the selected-skill reset warning, then confirm if you want to restart that skill.

You must be alive, outside the tutorial and free to act. The service rejects prestige attempts made during recent combat. Skill prestige is unavailable in seasonal Gridmaster worlds; its prestige board is a separate activity.

XP requirements

Each rank needs a fresh cycle of skill XP. The table shows your current skill XP required to earn the new rank, including the XP needed for level 99. Lifetime XP from earlier prestige cycles does not meet the next cycle's target.

All modes require level 99. The XP needed after 99 scales with the difficulty's base training rate. Ordinary training bonuses still affect XP you earn, so check the total in the window rather than dividing a Normal target by the rate difference.

New rank Normal 25× Hard 10× Extreme 3× Masochist 1×
P1 14,000,000 13,420,659 13,150,299 13,073,054
P2 25,000,000 17,820,659 14,470,299 13,513,054
P3 40,000,000 23,820,659 16,270,299 14,113,054
P4 65,000,000 33,820,659 19,270,299 15,113,054
P5 100,000,000 47,820,659 23,470,299 16,513,054
P6 150,000,000 67,820,659 29,470,299 18,513,054
P7 225,000,000 97,820,659 38,470,299 21,513,054
P8 300,000,000 127,820,659 47,470,299 24,513,054
P9 400,000,000 167,820,659 59,470,299 28,513,054
P10 500,000,000 207,820,659 71,470,299 32,513,054

All XP in the completed cycle is added to that skill's lifetime record when you prestige. Surplus XP above the target is recorded there and does not start the next cycle early.

Prestige Points

A new rank gives its rank number multiplied by your difficulty's point multiplier. For example, P4 gives 4 points on Normal or 16 on Masochist.

Difficulty Points for rank Pn Total from P1 through P10 in one skill
Normal n 55
Hard 2 × n 110
Extreme 3 × n 165
Masochist 4 × n 220

Prestige Points are saved for future spending rewards. The permanent skill bonuses are earned directly from ranks; they do not consume these points. Opening the window also credits any missing difficulty-point bonus for existing ranks.

Permanent skill bonuses

The matching skill's rank determines its bonus, even while that skill is being retrained. Output bonuses below are averages: small quantities use a chance of an extra item, while larger quantities can give a whole extra amount plus a chance for the remainder. Extra prestige output does not award extra skill XP.

Combat and supplies

Skill Bonus per rank At P10
Attack 1% more melee accuracy against monsters 10%
Strength 0.5% more melee damage against monsters 5%
Ranged 0.5% more ranged damage against monsters 5%
Magic 0.5% more magic damage against monsters 5%
Defence 0.5% less damage from NPC attacks 5%
Hitpoints 2% stronger normal food healing, rounded down 20%
Prayer 2% less Prayer drain; drain timing rounds to whole intervals 20%

Prestige does not replace the levels needed to wield a weapon, wear armour, cast a spell or use a prayer. Prayer prestige deactivates your prayers when that skill resets.

Damage bonuses increase the matching normal hit's maximum damage against monsters, with whole-number rounding. Fixed-damage hits do not use this maximum-hit bonus. A master cape requires 200M current XP in its skill; lifetime prestige XP does not satisfy that equipment check after a reset.

Gathering and Farming

Skill Bonus per rank Additional unlocks
Mining 3% chance for an extra base resource per ordinary gathering action P5: optional auto-note. P10: improves the ordinary Rock golem pet chance; other pet bonuses still apply.
Fishing 3% chance for an extra base fish per ordinary catch P5: optional auto-note.
Woodcutting 3% chance for an extra base log per ordinary chop P5: optional auto-note.
Farming 3% more produce from supported harvests P5: 10% seed preservation; P10: 20% seed preservation on supported non-tree patches.

At P10, the output bonus is 30%. The normal gathering action still needs its tools, levels, bait or other supplies. Banking and automatic processing retain their own rules.

For Mining, Fishing and Woodcutting, select the skill after P5 and use Auto-note: On/Off. Resources need a noted form for this to change their output. The toggle is separate for each skill.

Farming's seed bonus applies to herb, allotment, flower, hops, bush and mushroom patches. It does not preserve tree saplings. The P10 value replaces the P5 value.

Production

Each production skill below gives 3% material preservation per rank, up to 30% at P10, on its listed training actions. You still need the materials and tools to begin the action.

Skill Where the bonus applies
Smithing Materials used by ordinary furnace smelting and anvil recipes.
Crafting Materials in supported recipes, including leather armour and jewellery.
Herblore Ingredients used when mixing potions.
Fletching Logs cut into products; bow and crossbow stringing inputs; refunded arrow, bolt and dart inputs.
Construction Plank costs while building furniture. Other furniture materials keep their normal costs.
Firemaking Inventory logs used to light ordinary fires are returned when the save succeeds.

Smithing, Crafting and Herblore check prestige preservation before their profession-perk preservation chance. Their chances are separate rather than being added into one percentage. Batch Fletching refunds use whole quantities plus a chance for a fractional remainder.

Other skills

Skill Bonus per rank At P10
Agility 5% more marks when a rooftop mark reward appears 50% more marks; the mark-spawn chance is unchanged.
Thieving 3% more coins and noted pickpocket loot 30%
Cooking 3% more successfully cooked food 30%; successful Master Angler cooking also qualifies.
Runecrafting 3% more runes from ordinary altar crafting 30%
Hunter 3% more outputs from supported creature catches 30%
Slayer 3% more normal and boss assignment completion points 30%, plus unlimited free task picks and skips.

Agility prestige has no daily supply-cache claim. Its rank reward increases rooftop mark quantities.

Slayer P10 task choice

At Slayer P10, open the Skill Prestige window's Rewards tab to pick a supported normal or boss task, or skip your current assignment for free. These actions have no daily limit and consume no task pick scrolls or Prestige Points.

Leave combat first. You must have no active task before choosing another; use the free skip if necessary. The supported-task catalogue, requested-quantity limits and location restrictions still apply. ::skiptask also uses the free skip once Slayer P10 is unlocked. See Slayer task pick scroll for the shared task-choice rules.

Lifetime XP and milestone rewards

The window's lifetime XP adds the XP retired by completed prestige cycles to your current skill XP. It lets you reach the 200M, 500M and 1B skill-XP milestones across several cycles.

Level-99 and XP milestone rewards remain one-time rewards for each skill. Prestiging and reaching the same level again does not repeat an already-recorded milestone reward. Prestige Points are a separate balance from Sarim points and perk points.

Changing XP difficulty

Changing XP difficulty through Party Pete resets all skill levels, all skill prestige ranks, all rank-based unlocks and your remaining Prestige Points. This is a separate confirmed action from prestiging one skill. You can change difficulty up to three times.

Previously retired prestige-cycle XP and recorded milestone claims remain recorded. Current skill XP resets with the skills; it is not added to retired XP by the difficulty change. The reset also removes auto-note choices and Slayer P10's free task-choice unlock. Read the difficulty-change warning before confirming.
