The Raging Echo of Sol Heredit takes place inside a private instance of the Fortis Colosseum. It is the hardest and most rewarding Echo boss currently in the game, with the highest guaranteed coin floor of any variant and the best component drop rate at 1-in-80 per kill.
Complete '''Perfect Footwork'''. The Combat Achievement asks you to defeat Sol Heredit without taking damage from his spear, shield, light beam or triple attack. Once recorded, select '''Echo Sol Heredit''' in the teleport interface.

An individual incoming hit on Sol is capped at 120 damage. The fight rewards handling its mechanics throughout the kill, not relying on a single large hit.
== The encounter ==

Sol Heredit spawns in a fixed position inside a private Colosseum instance, facing south, and does not move. The boss uses the same combat abilities and patterns as the normal Sol Heredit encounter. A private instance means no other player can interfere with the fight — mechanics are balanced around solo play, and the arena's geometry stays predictable throughout.

Sol Heredit is one of OSRS's newer bosses with a mechanics-heavy kit. The Echo variant inherits that base difficulty. Players who have not fought normal Sol Heredit should do so before attempting the Echo version — the encounter does not scale down for inexperienced loadouts.

* 500,000 coins (guaranteed)
The two components share one 1-in-80 roll, awarding either the prism or the crest. The two finished-item rolls are separate. Ordinary Sol Heredit loot is included, with a 25% chance of one additional ordinary-table roll; that does not improve the dedicated Pact rates.
* '''1-in-25''' chance of 2,000,000 bonus coins
* One roll on the normal Sol Heredit drop table
* '''25% chance''' of a second normal-table roll

The normal Sol Heredit table includes its existing rare drops — Colosseum-specific items and supplies. The 25% extra-roll bonus applies on top of the guaranteed single roll, giving Echo kills more total loot volume than equivalent non-Echo encounters.

=== Echo-exclusive drops ===

* ''(1-in-80 to receive one of the two, chosen at random)''
** '''1-in-160''' chance of a Shadowflame Prism
** '''1-in-160''' chance of a Viking Pact Crest
* '''1-in-1024''' chance of Shadowflame Quadrant ''(global broadcast)''
* '''1-in-1024''' chance of VS Helm ''(global broadcast)''

The 1-in-80 component rate is the best of any Echo encounter. The component roll randomly selects one of the two available items — you cannot target a specific one. Players assembling both pieces of Demonic Pact equipment from Sol will need kills in volume regardless of which component drops first.

== Preparing for this encounter ==

* '''Know normal Sol first.''' The Echo variant uses the same mechanics. The private instance doesn't reduce the challenge — it just removes interference from other players.
* Keep totem targeting accessible alongside movement and prayer controls.
* '''Optimise for sustained kills.''' The respawn window is about 10 seconds. A build that sustains food and prayer between kills matters more here than a build that peaks on a single kill.
* Before pushing through a health threshold, leave yourself space to answer the new hazards.
* '''Expect component variance.''' At 1-in-80, the component rate is good for an Echo boss, but you won't hit it every kill. Dry patches of 200–300 kills are within normal variance. Plan gear and supplies around a session, not a single drop.
* Learn the combo timing separately from the spear and shield movement. Holding Protect from Melee throughout the combo does not keep it active.
* '''Build for Sol's kit.''' Consult the [[Perks Menu|item perks guide]] for perk setups that perform well against mechanic-heavy encounters.

Mechanic What to watch Response
Spear attacks Directional patterns extend from Sol toward your position; the two spear variants alternate. Move out of the threatened lanes during the wind-up.
Shield attacks The safe ring alternates between five and four tiles from Sol’s centre. Read the shield pattern and move to the matching ring; distance alone is not always safe.
Molten sand Dangerous floor persists and deals repeated damage while occupied. Preserve clear routes as the fight progresses.
Prisms Moving prisms stop, charge and project a beam. Leave the beam line before it fires.
Healing totems Totems start healing Sol after a delay and continue healing while alive. Switch to the totems so they do not undo your damage.
Triple attack Three melee checks; prayer activated too early is repeatedly turned off. Time Protect from Melee for each strike. From the phase below 50% health, the third strike is delayed by an extra tick.

A component is an upgrade attempt. The equipment recipe has a 50% base success rate, increased by your donor rank. A failed attempt consumes the Echo component and keeps the listed equipment ingredients. A successful attempt consumes both. See the complete upgrade rules before crafting.

Shadowflame quadrant uses an NPC’s strongest elemental weakness for modern elemental spells and adds a follow-up hit. V’s helm retains imbued Slayer-helmet functionality and can block a qualifying NPC hit. Read the full effect conditions.

Plan for the transitions

  • Keep totem targeting accessible alongside movement and prayer controls.
  • Before pushing through a health threshold, leave yourself space to answer the new hazards.
  • Learn the combo timing separately from the spear and shield movement. Holding Protect from Melee throughout the combo does not keep it active.
