First day
Start Sarim RSPS by getting one build working. Finish account setup, equip your free account perk, learn the client’s travel and shop tools, then pick an activity that fits your equipment.
| First unlock | One level-5 perk | Unlock it for free, then equip it. |
|---|---|---|
| Build limit | Six active perks | Points buy and upgrade perks; they do not unlock more active slots. |
| First objective | One manageable activity | Learn your route and supplies before extending the trip. |
1. Finish account setup
In the Sarim client, enter an unused username and a new password, then log in. This creates your account. Choose your appearance before continuing through the setup screens. Use a password you do not use for OSRS or another service.
- Confirm your account type. Regular, solo Ironman variants and group modes have different restrictions. The mode comparison explains them.
- Choose XP difficulty. Normal 25×, Hard 10× or Extreme 3×. Later changes reset skills; read the consequences before confirming.
- Resolve the optional PIN prompt. Choose “Set an account PIN” or “Skip for now.” You can enable a PIN later with
::pin. - Group accounts: join or form your group. Group IM and Hardcore Group IM start this part on the island. Complete it before trying to leave for home.
2. Unlock and equip your free account perk
Open Sarim Perks at home. Your first free unlock starts at level 5. Choose a perk that works with the style and equipment you intend to use.
| If you plan to use… | Consider… | Why it is relevant |
|---|---|---|
| Ranged PvM | Deadeye | Combines ranged attack-speed, accuracy, damage and range effects. |
| Melee | Speedy Strikes | Reduces melee attack delay. |
These are starting suggestions, not a ranking of every build. Read the effect and its conditions before using your free unlock.
Unlocked is not the same as active. After unlocking the perk, equip it and check the active-perk list. Perk changes require you to be at home. You can change your active selection later and save loadouts.
Your build can hold up to six active account perks. Spendable perk points buy and upgrade perks; Lifetime Perk Points record what you have earned. Equipment attachments use a separate system described in the perk reference.
3. Learn the three client tools
| Tool | Use it now |
|---|---|
| Sarim Perks | Confirm your chosen perk is active. |
| Sarim Hub | Find teleports, inspect drops and review Daily Tasks. |
| Sarim Shops | Check supplies and eligible purchases while at home. |

4. Choose a manageable Slayer task
Slayer gives your first combat trip a clear target. Use ::slayer to reach the masters and start with Turael. Before leaving, check the assignment, your equipment, food and the target’s requirements. Use Sarim Hub to inspect the target and its drops.
Ordinary Slayer is a useful starting route while you learn the server. Wilderness Slayer is optional: take it only when you accept the area’s risks, especially on a hardcore account. Read Death before taking expensive equipment. Do not carry your whole resource supply into an unfamiliar activity.
5. Check the progress you are already making
Check Daily Tasks in Sarim Hub for activities you can complete on the same trip. Open your Achievement Book and review Combat Achievements with ::cas. These reward perk points. Choose a nearby objective that fits the activity you are already doing rather than forcing a difficult task immediately.
Collection-log entries also earn points
Open the collection log with ::clog to choose a missing item and inspect completion rewards.
Each new unique collection-log entry awards one perk point. Milestones add bonuses; reaching 100 unique entries adds 40 bonus points. Check the collection log’s rewards as well as its missing items when choosing another goal.
6. Read clues and inspect the rewards
Clue scrolls do not require a puzzle route on Sarim. Use Read to claim the clue’s rewards directly. Keep useful equipment and inspect spare items at the Workbench before breaking them down.
An optional first attachment: Trailblazer
Trailblazer attaches to boots. When you gain non-Agility XP, it can award bonus Agility XP. It is an equipment attachment, so it does not occupy an account-perk slot.
At the Item Workbench, inspect eligible spare items, their material return and the attachment recipe. Disintegration consumes the selected items. A roll is not a promise of an improvement, so read the outcome rules before spending materials.

Voting and claiming
Use ::vote to open the voting page. After completing eligible provider votes, return to the game and use ::claimvote. Leave inventory space and read the claim response. The voting page explains provider timing, rewards and the separate streak rules.
A later ranged goal: Dark beasts
At 90 Slayer, Dark beasts become an equipment target for their Dark bow drop. Treat this as a later goal, not a requirement to finish your first session. Look up the drop in Sarim Hub and compare it with the equipment you already have.
A later boss goal: Argentavis
Argentavis has drops including the Superior Potion, Merlin’s Cloak, Argentavis Feather and Ring of AoE. The Superior Potion boosts Attack, Strength, Defence, Ranged and Magic to 126 when those base stats are 99; it cannot be used in the Wilderness.
Check the encounter and your preparation before taking it on. You do not need to obtain a rare drop to call your first session complete. A working perk, a completed activity and a clear next upgrade are useful progress.
