A

Account mode
Your account’s trading, banking and status rules. Sarim has Regular, Ironman, Hardcore Ironman, Ultimate Ironman, Group Ironman and Hardcore Group Ironman. Compare all six.
Account perk
Another name for a player perk: an owned account upgrade that must be equipped in an active player-perk slot. It is separate from an equipment attachment.
Active perk slot
One of six positions in your player-perk loadout. Unlocking a perk does not automatically put it in a slot.
Attachment
An item perk applied to a specific piece of equipment through the Item Workbench. Its level is stored on that item.

B

Binding Catalyst
A Workbench material formerly called Old Enhancer. It is used in recipes such as Trailblazer.

C

Canonical perk name
The current name shown in the perk catalog. Older names can refer to renamed or merged perks; use the cross-reference below.
Catalyst
One of three Workbench recipe materials: Binding, Resonant or Ascendant Catalyst. They are separate ingredients from essences.
Collection-log unique
A newly recorded item in the collection log. Unique progress earns perk points; additional collection-count milestones have their own rewards.

D

Disintegration
Destroying registered equipment at the Item Workbench to receive materials in Workbench Storage. It is different from removing an attachment.
Disintegration tier
An equipment classification used for material output and the standard attachment-capacity rules. It is not an attachment’s rolled level.
Dominion of Echoes
A separate activity with its own progression and reward rules. Do not apply solo Echo-boss reward assumptions to it.
Drop rate
The chance of receiving a reward from an eligible roll. A 1-in-100 chance is not a promise of a drop by the hundredth kill.

E

Echo boss
A custom boss variant with its own encounter and reward rules. Use the Echo boss reference for the specific encounter.
Equipment perk
See item perk.
Essence · Workbench
Fractured, Refined or Prismatic Essence: materials used with catalysts in attachment recipes. These are not rune or pure essence for Runecrafting.

F

Free perk unlock
Your starting choice of one player perk at level 5. Unlock it, then equip it in Sarim Perks. Later paid unlocks start at level 1.

G

GIM
Group Ironman: a group of up to five players can trade internally and use group storage. New group accounts must join or form their group before leaving the island.
Gridmaster
A mode in development. Development references do not establish a public release date or final season rules.

H

HCIM
Hardcore Ironman: Ironman restrictions plus a status lost on an unsafe death. Safe-death exceptions depend on the activity.
HCGIM
Hardcore Group Ironman: group progression with five shared lives. Unsafe deaths consume those lives; losing them removes hardcore status.
Home restriction
Some account actions, including player-perk changes and Sarim Shops purchases, require you to be at home.

I

Instance
A separate copy of an encounter area. An instance can have its own entry and death rules; the word alone does not mean the activity is safe.
Ironman
A self-sufficient account mode that cannot trade with other players. Standard Ironman has a personal bank; Ultimate and group variants have different storage rules.
Item perk
An effect attached to a particular equipment piece, using Workbench materials. See the 19 attachment effects.

L

Lifetime perk points
A record of perk-point progress. Spending points does not reduce it. It does not unlock extra active slots in the current six-slot system.
Loadout / preset
A saved selection of active player perks. Sarim Perks has five named preset slots. Loading a player-perk preset does not attach perks to equipment.

P

Perk level
The strength level of an individual player perk or item attachment, from 1 to 5. It is separate from the number of active slots.
Perk Manager / Sarim Perks
The client tool for browsing, unlocking, upgrading and equipping player perks, viewing set bonuses and managing presets.
Perk points
The spendable points used to purchase and upgrade player perks. Earned through achievements and collection-log progress; separate from Workbench materials.
Player perk
The account-level perk system managed in Sarim Perks. Up to six owned perks can be active. See the 34-perk catalog.
Proc
An effect that activates when its trigger and chance succeed. An effect can have a cooldown or exclude damage caused by another proc.
PvM / PvP
Player-versus-monster and player-versus-player combat. An effect described as PvM does not imply a PvP benefit.
Private server / RSPS
An independently operated RuneScape private server. Sarim is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Jagex.

R

Regular account
The unrestricted account type with player trading and a personal bank. “Normal” also appears as the name of the separate 25× XP difficulty.
Relative chance bonus
A proportional increase to an eligible base chance. A 5% relative bonus turns 1% into 1.05%, not 6%.
RSPS
RuneScape private server. The category of game server Sarim belongs to.
RuneLite-based client
Sarim’s own client built on RuneLite. Use the official Sarim launcher; your regular RuneLite installation is not the Sarim client.

S

Secondary hit
Damage caused by an effect such as an echo, bleed or follow-up. Its eligibility for other effects can differ from the original direct attack.
Set bonus
An extra effect activated by a qualifying combination of active player perks. See all seven current sets.
Spendable perk points
Your currently available perk-point balance. It falls when you pay for a player-perk unlock or upgrade.

T

Tick
One game update interval; Sarim’s game tick is 600 milliseconds. Attack delays and some effect durations are measured in ticks.
Tier
A classification whose meaning depends on context. Workbench disintegration tier, perk catalog tier and an attachment’s level are different values.

U

UIM
Ultimate Ironman: no player trading and no personal bank. Inventory, equipment and activity rules matter when planning a route.

W

Workbench Storage
The material balance managed in the Item Workbench. Disintegration deposits here, and recipes combine stored and carried materials.

X

XP difficulty / XP rate
Your chosen base XP multiplier: Normal 25×, Hard 10× or Extreme 3×. It is separate from account mode. Up to three changes are available through Party Pete, with a skill reset on each change. Read the full rules.

Reading an older guide: current perk names

Use these names in the current catalog. A rename does not mean the old effect values still apply. Merged player perks share one build identity; they are not extra active slots.
