Slayer is trained by killing monsters assigned by a Slayer master. Complete the assignment to earn Slayer points, then ask for another task.

For a new account, start with Turael. Move to harder assignments when your equipment, food and protection prayers can support longer trips.

Getting a task

Use ::slayer to reach the Slayer area. Turael, Krystilia and Duradel stand close together there. Talk to the master you want to use and ask for an assignment.

Check your task with ::task or ::slayertask. The Quest tab also shows the monster and remaining amount. Ask your master for tips if you are unsure what equipment the monster needs.

  1. Get an assignment suited to your level.
  2. Buy any required protection or finishing items from the Slayer Coin Shop in Sarim Shops.
  3. Bring food, ammunition or runes, and prayer supplies if needed.
  4. Use Sarim Hub to reach the target.
  5. Kill the assigned monsters until the remaining count reaches zero.
  6. Return to a Slayer master for your next assignment.

Choosing a master

The points below are the normal reward for a completed task, before streak bonuses, donor bonuses or double-point events.

Master Combat level to receive tasks Points per task Notes
Turael No minimum 10 A starting option for new accounts.
Vannaka 40 15 A step up from Turael.
Mazchna 50 12 His task assignment requires 50 combat.
Chaeldar 70 18 Harder regular assignments.
Konar 75 30 Kill the monsters at the assigned location.
Nieve 85 20 Higher-level regular assignments.
Duradel 100 20 Higher-level regular assignments.
Krystilia No minimum 40 Monsters must be killed in the Wilderness.

A higher point reward does not make a task faster or safer. Pick assignments you can complete comfortably. Leave the master's combat-level check enabled while you are learning.

Location rules

Konar: follow the location in the assignment. Killing the same monster elsewhere does not give normal task progress or Slayer XP.

Krystilia: kill the assigned monsters inside the Wilderness. Kills outside it do not count. Take only equipment and supplies you are prepared to lose.

For other masters, check that the monster belongs to your assigned creature type. Specific boss assignments require the named boss.

Skipping and blocking

Option Cost What happens
Skip with Slayer points 30 points before donor reductions Clears your current assignment.
Skip with coins at a master 500,000 coins in your inventory Clears your current assignment.
::skiptask 500,000 coins or equivalent platinum tokens in your inventory Clears your current assignment.
Block through Slayer rewards 100 Slayer points and a free block slot Clears the assignment and stops that task being assigned again while blocked.

The paid skip options keep your task streak. Ask for a new assignment after skipping. Specific boss tasks cannot be added to the normal block list.

Save some points for skips before spending everything in the reward shop. Block tasks you repeatedly dislike, rather than using a block slot after one inconvenient trip.

Points and rewards

Slayer points are awarded when you finish an assignment. Streak milestones at 10, 50, 100, 250 and 1,000 tasks give extra points with most masters. Turael has no extra milestone points.

Use the Slayer Point Shop for item rewards. The separate Slayer Coin Shop sells task equipment for coins. Talk to a master and choose Rewards for unlocks, extensions and the block list.

Some on-task kills can drop Slayer keys. Konar assignments can also give Brimstone keys, while Wilderness assignments can give Larran's keys. Pick up your drops before leaving the area.

A useful early route

  1. Finish a manageable Turael task and claim any achievement rewards you have earned.
  2. Check Daily Tasks for activities you can combine with your next trip.
  3. Replace equipment when it makes your current tasks easier. Keep money for supplies and skips.
  4. Compare your player perks with your chosen combat style before leaving home.

Read a boss guide before moving from ordinary monsters to a boss assignment. You can train Slayer and build up supplies without starting Wilderness Slayer.
