Leviathan is an instanced boss with 2,500 hitpoints. It attacks with volleys of orbs and arena hazards, and drops the Venator vestige, Leviathan's lure and Virtus armour.

Getting there

Choose Leviathan in the Sarim Hub and confirm the instance. Creating an instance through this route does not consume an instance token. Collect your drops before leaving: leaving or logging out destroys the instance you created.

Fight

Ranged attacks are a useful starting choice because Leviathan's ranged defence bonus is lower than its melee and magic defence bonuses. Fight from a distance to avoid its close-range bite.

  • Orb volleys: Switch to the protection prayer matching each orb before it hits. The correct prayer blocks that orb; an unprotected orb deals 25–40 damage. Volleys begin with ranged and magic, then gain melee orbs and more projectiles as the fight progresses.
  • Falling rocks: Keep moving away from targeted tiles. During the six-rock sequence, each rock lands on the tile you occupied when it was thrown. After the rocks land, stand on the adjacent tile on the boss-facing side of a rock to avoid the arena-wide blast.
  • Lightning: Move out of the sweeping lightning and the scattered sparks. Keep enough clear space to move again when the next sweep begins.

Leviathan's roar also deals a small hit, so keep some health in reserve even when your prayer switches are correct.
