Reward boxes and caskets give equipment, supplies, coins or points when opened. Similar names can have different contents and claim steps. Check the exact container in Sarim Hub before opening it.
Before opening
- Return somewhere safe and leave inventory space.
- Search the exact box or casket in Sarim Hub's Drops tab to see its reward list.
- Check whether it awards an item, coins or a point balance. Points are not coins.
- Choose its inventory action. Some boxes award immediately; a Voting Mystery Box uses a separate Spin and Claim window.
- Check the ground after opening. The common boxes below add item rewards to inventory or drop them if they do not fit.
These portable boxes do not all use the banking rules of a Crystal chest or clue reward. Ultimate Ironmen should be especially careful about ground overflow.
Common containers
| Container | What opening does |
|---|---|
| Low tier mystery box | Awards one draw from its supply and equipment pool. Possible rewards include runes, food, ores, bars and coins. |
| High tier mystery box | Awards one draw from a different pool, including large supply stacks, clues, keys and equipment. |
| Slayer mystery box | Awards one draw from its own equipment and supply pool. It is different from the Slayer casket below. |
| Point mystery box | Adds one type of point reward directly to its balance. It does not give a bag containing every currency. |
| Vote Buff Streak Box | Awards one item reward immediately. This is the box granted by normal vote claims. |
| Voting Mystery Box | Opens a reward window. Spin consumes the box, then Claim awards the result; Discard gives up the result. |
| Slayer casket | Awards one item draw, with a separate chance for 25 Slayer points. |
| Reward/catalyst casket | Gives 500,000–2,000,000 coins. It is different from a clue reward casket. |
An item draw can be a stack of supplies. It does not mean the box gives every reward listed in its drop table.
Where common boxes come from
- Ordinary combat: the monster bonus-container roll can give a low tier box or point box below combat level 100, and a high tier box or point box at level 100 or higher. These are separate from the monster's main item table.
- Slayer: eligible kills matching an ordinary Slayer assignment can give a Slayer mystery box. A Slayer mystery box and a Slayer casket have different opening rewards.
- Lucklocked starter: the package includes three low tier mystery boxes and one Slayer mystery box. Lucklocked also explains its independent bonus boxes and source-specific containers.
- Voting: each successfully claimed vote gives a Vote Buff Streak Box. Follow the voting and claim steps.
- Early Catalyst training: newcomer Catalyst rewards can include the coin reward casket. Its contents are explained below.
Other containers have their own sources. Use the source's boss or activity guide for requirements, and the Drops browser for contents. Do not assume a box called “Voting Mystery Box” is the same item as the current Vote Buff Streak Box.
Point mystery boxes
One opening grants one of these reward types. Most openings use the normal column; a separate rare opening can use the larger column. The reward types are not perfectly equal chances.
| Point type | Normal reward / rare larger reward |
|---|---|
| Sarim points | 5,000 / 100,000 |
| Achievement Points | 1 / 10 |
| Vote points | 10 / 25 |
| Slayer points | 100 / 1,000 |
| Perk points | 2 / 15 |
Use Sarim Shops to find the store matching a point balance. Perk points are spent in Sarim Perks. Opening a point box does not create an inventory item for those balances.
Slayer and coin caskets
The Slayer casket gives one reward from its equipment and supply pool. It also has an independent 1/20 chance to add 25 Slayer points. This point roll does not replace the item reward.
The reward/catalyst casket always gives one coin reward. It selects one of ten equally likely outcomes:
| Coins | Number of outcomes out of ten |
|---|---|
| 500,000 | 4 |
| 1,000,000 | 3 |
| 1,500,000 | 2 |
| 2,000,000 | 1 |
It does not give a clue reward package. Use Clue scrolls for Beginner through Master reward caskets.
Claiming a Voting Mystery Box
- Choose Open on the Voting Mystery Box.
- Choose Spin. This consumes the box. Pressing Spin again can skip the rolling animation.
- Choose Claim to receive the result, or Discard to give it up.
Claim or discard the current result before opening another box. Looking at the spinning items does not award all of them. The reward is added to inventory or dropped if it does not fit.
The Vote Buff Streak Box needs only its normal Open action and gives one immediate reward.
Bonuses and saved boxes
The low tier, high tier, Slayer and Vote Buff Streak boxes use fixed weighted item pools. Your shared drop-rate balance does not improve their contents. It also does not improve the point box's currency selection or the coin casket's payout.
Some supported mystery boxes have a separate chance to be saved by holiday equipment and the Summer dragon or Summer spirit bonus. A saved box still gives its reward and remains available to open again. This is a box-saving effect, not a better chance to select a rare item. It does not apply to every casket or point box.
Source-specific Lucklocked boxes and Fortune Hunts have their own rules. Read those guides before treating a box as interchangeable with a normal boss or raid reward.
If a reward appears missing
- Check whether the container requires Claim after spinning.
- Check your inventory, point balance and nearby ground.
- Follow the container's own overflow rule; bank overflow is not universal.
- A saved box may still be present after its reward was awarded.
- Multi-reward bags and crates can require several free inventory slots before they open. Clear the space requested by the game message.
