Trailblazer is an item perk made at Item Workbench. Its compatible equipment is listed above.

What it changes

Each qualifying non-Agility XP event can grant extra Agility XP. The grant is 10% of the triggering amount, rounded down and capped per event; it does not consume or divert the source XP.

When it helps

Gives passive Agility progress while training other skills or gaining qualifying combat XP. Higher levels increase the activation frequency and the cap for large XP events.

Worked example

With level 5, an eligible 1,000-XP gain has a 20% chance to add 100 Agility XP, averaging 20 extra Agility XP per such gain before any older equipment XP upgrade. A 30,000-XP gain reaches the base cap of 2,500 on activation; a gain below 10 XP rounds the base award down to zero.

Limits and interactions

Your boots must remain equipped. Only qualifying XP gains that receive ordinary XP multipliers can activate it. Agility XP, locked XP, zero or negative XP and rewards that bypass ordinary XP multipliers do not qualify.

Trailblazer does not activate in Gridmaster. Outside that mode, it can work in the Wilderness and is not restricted to XP from monsters.

The triggering amount includes your difficulty multiplier, relevant training gear and older item XP upgrades. It is measured before personal XP timers, the first-three-days boost, Wilderness XP, weekend XP, camel-statue XP and Agility Momentum.

The added Agility XP does not receive those usual difficulty, timer, weekend, Wilderness or Momentum multipliers. Older equipment XP upgrades can still increase it after the base cap; maximum XP and XP lock still apply.

Attach and upgrade

At home, open Item Workbench and choose Perks Mode. Select the equipment from your inventory, then choose Trailblazer. The first application rolls a level from 1 to 5. Applying it again can raise its level; an equal or lower roll keeps the current level and does not refund materials used. Each attempt normally spends the recipe again; eligible donation ranks can preserve individual recipe entries. This does not change the level-roll chances. Level 5 cannot be upgraded further.

Material Full recipe Remove Perk return
Fractured Essence 65 45
Binding Catalyst 3 2

Stored and carried materials combine; storage is used first. The return column is for Remove Perk in Perks Mode. It refunds part of one base recipe to Workbench Storage, even after several upgrades. Disintegration destroys the equipment and its attachments.

Level roll chances

Rolled level Chance per attempt
1 25%
2 30%
3 20%
4 15%
5 10%

These are the chances of each exact rolled level. Selecting a level preview does not choose the result. Repeated attempts do not guarantee level 5.
