One active persistent Fate

Lucklocked is a permanent Ironman account mode with extra monster reward boxes, clue drops, private Lucky Encounters and weekly Fortune Hunts. You keep a personal bank and cannot trade with other players. Your XP difficulty is chosen separately.

Ordinary monsters keep their normal rare and unique drops. Lucklocked adds a separate box chance alongside that loot. Some activity rewards, including raid uniques, become source-specific mystery boxes instead.

Open the Lucklocked Hub

Use ::fortunehunt to open the Luck tab in Sarim Hub. You can also select Luck from the Hub on a Lucklocked account.

  1. Read your PvM Fortune charge and raid Fortune meter.
  2. Choose one persistent Fate for the activities you plan to do.
  3. Check this week's three Fortune Hunt objectives.
  4. Fight suitable monsters or complete the named activities, then return to check progress.

A persistent Fate stays active until you choose another. Only one is active at a time. Selecting another Fate does not spend or reset your PvM Fortune charge.

Choose a persistent Fate

Fate Benefit
Fortune's Favor Adds 20 percentage points to the chance of upgrading the next successful ordinary-monster bonus box. At 40 charge, the upgrade chance rises from 20% to 40%.
Golden Omen Makes eligible Lucky Encounters more frequent: a base 1/500 encounter chance becomes 1/400. It also adds 5 percentage points to the share of encounters that are Gilded.
Loaded Dice Builds PvM Fortune charge twice as fast and improves the reward-tier rolls used when generating Fate Choice options.

Fortune's Favor suits ordinary box hunting. Golden Omen suits hunting private encounters. Loaded Dice helps build charge between boxes and improves Fate Choice options; it does not guarantee a particular reward.

Persistent Fates and Fate Choice are different. A persistent Fate changes ongoing bonuses. Fate Choice is a one-time reward selection after a Lucky Encounter.

Ordinary monster bonuses

Bonus boxes and PvM Fortune

An eligible ordinary monster kill gets an independent bonus-box roll. The monster's combat level affects both how often a box appears and the box reward pool.

Monster combat level Bonus-box chance per eligible kill
Below 25 1/55
25–49 1/45
50–99 1/35
100–149 1/28
150–199 1/22
200–299 1/18
300–499 1/14
500 or higher 1/10

A missed bonus-box roll adds 1 PvM Fortune charge, or 2 with Loaded Dice, up to 100. When the box roll succeeds, charge supplies a chance to improve its box reward: 0.5 percentage points per charge. Fortune's Favor adds another 20 percentage points. The successful box event then resets charge to zero, whether or not the upgrade succeeds.

At 100 charge, the box-upgrade chance is 50%, or 70% with Fortune's Favor. Charge improves the reward from a successful box event; it does not guarantee that the next kill gives a box.

These bonuses apply to ordinary monster rewards. Raids and bosses with separate reward systems have their own rules. A monster already owned by a player cannot spawn a private Lucky Encounter through the ordinary-kill route.

Extra clues

Eligible ordinary monster kills also have a separate Lucklocked clue roll. The extra clue tier increases with the monster's combat level: Beginner below 25, Easy from 25, Medium from 75, Hard from 125 and Elite from 200. Master clues do not come from this bonus roll.

See Clue scrolls for opening clues and collecting their rewards. These extra clues are separate from the monster's ordinary clue-drop chance.

Private Lucky Encounters

An eligible ordinary kill can summon a Fortune Imp Champion or Gilded Fortune Imp Champion near the defeated monster. Stronger monsters have better encounter chances; Golden Omen improves them further. The encounter is private to its owner.

  1. Watch for the appearance message and hint arrow.
  2. Defeat the Champion within 60 seconds. Keep food and combat supplies ready after the original fight.
  3. Stay nearby. The encounter disappears if you die, log out or move more than 32 tiles away.
  4. Leave inventory space for the reward and collect any reward dropped at your feet.

You can have only one encounter active. Another cannot appear while you have an unresolved Fate Choice.

A defeated Champion either gives a reward container or opens Fate Choice. Fate Choice offers three different rewards; select one to receive it. Gilded encounters have a higher Fate Choice chance and better reward tiers than ordinary encounters. The reward goes to your inventory or the ground if it does not fit. Choose before logging out or dying; an unresolved choice is not retained across those interruptions.

Closing the choice dialogue while still alive and logged in reopens the same choices. It does not reroll them. Claiming Fate Choice does not change your persistent Fate.

Raids and the raid Fortune meter

Chambers of Xeric, Theatre of Blood, Tombs of Amascut and The Forsaken Trials have a separate Lucklocked raid Fortune bonus. It can succeed alongside a normal unique roll and awards one container or key from a shared reward pool. It is not always a box from the raid you completed.

Eligible reward event Starting Fortune bonus chance
Chambers of Xeric: more than 1,000 personal points 1/8
Theatre of Blood: at least 100 damage dealt 1/7
The Forsaken Trials reward roll 1/6
Tombs of Amascut, raid level below 100 1/10
Tombs of Amascut, raid level 100–199 1/9
Tombs of Amascut, raid level 200–299 1/8
Tombs of Amascut, raid level 300–399 1/7
Tombs of Amascut, raid level 400–499 1/6
Tombs of Amascut, raid level 500 or higher 1/5

The miss streak is shared across these raids. Every four Fortune misses improves the chance by one step, down to 1/4. A Fortune success resets the streak. For example, The Forsaken Trials starts at 1/6, becomes 1/5 after four misses and 1/4 after eight. A normal purple alone does not reset this meter.

This meter is separate from PvM Fortune charge, persistent Fates and the Raid Fortune equipment attachment. Follow each raid guide for its completion, loot and claim rules.

Source boxes and opening tiers

Rolled uniques from Chambers, Theatre and Tombs are replaced by their raid mystery box for Lucklocked accounts. A Forsaken Trials purple Echo orb becomes an Echo orb mystery box when its reward chest is claimed. Nightmare also converts its qualifying unique rewards into its mystery box. Ordinary monster-table rare drops remain their original items.

The Chambers, Theatre, Tombs and Echo orb mystery boxes have an extra Lucklocked opening tier:

Opening What you receive
Normal One reward from that source box.
Lucky Two source rewards.
Fortune One source reward and an extra reward container.
Jackpot Two source rewards and an extra reward container.

Opening one of these boxes counts towards the relevant Fortune Hunt objective. Any opening above Normal also adds Fortune-event progress. General low/high tier mystery boxes and other containers do not automatically use these rules.

Leave space before opening boxes; excess rewards can drop to the ground. Use Reward boxes and caskets and the Hub's Drops tab to inspect each container's contents.
