The instructions below apply if you already own an Echo gathering tool.

Echo gathering tools are three forms of one transforming tool: Echo pickaxe, Echo axe and Echo harpoon. If you own one, carry the matching form in your inventory or weapon slot for its gathering benefits.

Changing form

Use Toggle while the tool is in your inventory. The cycle is pickaxe → axe → harpoon → pickaxe. Toggling stops your current action and keeps the item's attached attributes.

You can gather with the tool in your inventory. Wielding it uses the corresponding dragon tool's equipment requirements. You still need the level for the rock, tree, fish or activity you choose.

Gathering

Echo forms allow up to one gathering attempt per tick in their supported actions. The timer is shared across forms, so switching forms does not grant extra attempts. Success checks, inventory space, resource depletion and activity requirements still matter; an attempt does not guarantee a resource.

Form Uses
Echo pickaxe Ordinary mining with improved success, rune/pure essence, dark essence, Motherlode Mine pay-dirt and Shooting Stars. Motherlode veins still require 30 Mining.
Echo axe Ordinary Woodcutting with improved success, chopping planted fruit trees, Wintertodt bruma roots and the Challenge Mode Muttadile meat tree in Chambers of Xeric.
Echo harpoon Ordinary fishing with improved success. It replaces the spot's normal tool and bait; the spot option and fish levels still determine catches. It also supports raid supply fishing and Lake Molch aerial fishing.

Other fishing uses

In Chambers of Xeric supply rooms, the Echo harpoon replaces the rod and cave worms. Your Fishing level still determines the available raid fish, and catches still use a success check.

At Lake Molch, aerial fishing still requires 43 Fishing and 35 Hunter. With the Echo harpoon, you do not need the cormorant's glove or bait. Click a spot and remain still to repeat catches while the spot and inventory space remain available. Each catch grants Fishing and Hunter XP and has an additional Molch pearl roll.
