Purging staff is a one-handed demonbane staff. Use a Tormented synapse on a battlestaff while carrying an iron bar and having 74 Crafting. This consumes the synapse and iron bar, transforms the battlestaff and awards 730 base Crafting XP.
The base item keeps its existing item perks. Account Temper stays with its original equipment family and does not transfer to a different family. Remove attached state from the consumed component first.
Casting
Magic attacks against demon NPCs gain 125% accuracy and damage before other combat modifiers.
Switch to the Arceuus spellbook, equip the staff and choose autocast in the combat tab. Select Inferior, Superior or Dark demonbane. You still need the spell's Magic level and its runes in your inventory. See Demonbane spells for levels, runes and base maximum hits.
The staff and demonbane spells can damage Doom of Mokhaiotl's demonic shield.
