Gridmaster rates
Gridmaster rates apply to seasonal progression on World 2. The mode starts at 5× XP, increases eligible rare-drop chances eightfold, speeds Farming growth and boosts selected activity points. Individual relics add their own effects.
XP multiplier
The seasonal multiplier applies to ordinary combat and skilling XP. It replaces the usual difficulty, donor, event, equipment and temporary XP bonus stack. An activity or relic can still change the base XP awarded before that multiplier.
| XP upgrades completed | Seasonal XP multiplier |
|---|---|
| 0 | 5× |
| 1 | 7× |
| 2 | 9× |
| 3 | 11× |
| 4 | 13× |
| 5 | 15× |
Each of these five completions adds 2×:
- Catch 25 lobsters.
- Loot a Barrows chest after killing all six brothers.
- Win Pest Control with at least 50 activity.
- Complete row 4.
- Complete column 4.
The order does not matter. An upgrade takes effect as soon as it is earned; it does not wait for a claim. An ordinary 100-base-XP action gives 500 XP at the starting rate and 1,500 XP at the maximum rate, before any activity-specific change to base XP.
XP lamps
A board lamp uses your current earned seasonal multiplier when claimed. The lamp's listed base XP is not the final award. For example, the 10,000-base-XP lamp gives 50,000 XP at 5× or 150,000 XP at 15×. Raising the multiplier before spending a lamp increases that lamp's award.
Choose a skill when claiming the lamp, turn off XP lock and remember that each lamp can be claimed once. See Gridmaster board and tasks for the lamp rewards.
Rare drops and raid uniques
Eligible rare NPC-table rolls receive 8× the native chance, capped at a guaranteed successful roll. Ordinary NPC-table entries qualify when their native denominator is 50 or greater. Guaranteed and more common entries do not receive this seasonal rare-drop boost.
For an eligible roll with native chance 1/800, the seasonal chance is 1/100. This describes that entry's roll. A table's order, selection rules and your eligibility can still affect whether the item is awarded on a kill.
The seasonal chance replaces ordinary drop-rate, timed rare-drop and eligible attachment or perk-set bonuses on those rolls. Ordinary NPC loot uses one seasonal drop roll; the usual extra-roll effects do not add more rolls.
The rare-unique gates for Chambers of Xeric, Theatre of Blood and Tombs of Amascut also receive the seasonal eightfold boost. Their underlying conditions still matter: personal points in Chambers, party deaths and participation in the Theatre, and invocation level and deaths in Tombs. The boost increases the chance to pass the unique gate; it does not multiply the number of unique items awarded.
Pets
Ordinary NPC pets use one native pet roll, without the usual donor, timed pet, shared drop-rate or extra pet-roll bonuses. The Theatre of Blood and Tombs of Amascut likewise retain their native pet rules and contribution requirements without the ordinary pet bonuses.
Olmlet is a special case: Chambers of Xeric rolls it only when a unique is awarded. Its conditional pet roll remains 1/40, but the seasonal unique boost creates more opportunities for that pet roll. Pursue each pet's activity and participation conditions; the 8× unique boost is not a separate multiplier on pet rolls.
Farming and activity points
| Progress or currency | Seasonal rate | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Farming growth | 5× elapsed growth | Crops move through their growth stages faster. Farmer's Fortune has a separate faster-growth effect. |
| Slayer completion points | 5× | The native master and streak award is multiplied. Ordinary donor and double-Slayer point bonuses do not stack onto it. |
| Boss Slayer completion points | 5× | The seasonal multiplier applies to the native completion award. |
| Pest Control points | 8× | Successful-game points use the boat's native award, without the ordinary donor additions. |
| Wintertodt points | 8× | Points gained during the game are multiplied. Seasonal game points are reset at the game's reset points. |
| Mage Arena points | 8× | An eligible battle-mage kill awards 24–48 points instead of the native 3–6. |
| Nightmare Zone points | 8× | The native monster and dream-difficulty point award is multiplied. |
These activity currencies are separate from Grid points. Grid points depend on completed board tasks, not on the number of Slayer or minigame points you accumulate. See Gridmaster rewards.
