Clue scrolls give treasure rewards immediately on Sarim. Use Read on the scroll to claim its loot. You do not need to travel through a puzzle route, and Read does not give you a casket to open afterwards.
Claiming a clue
- Pick up the clue and leave inventory space for its rewards.
- Choose Read. One scroll is consumed, its tier's completion count increases and the rewards are delivered.
- Check the reward window, inventory and bank. Ordinary accounts receive overflow in their bank; Ultimate Ironmen receive overflow on the ground.
- Read any new master clue separately. Keep useful supplies and check your collection log before selling or disintegrating equipment.
The Check steps action confirms that the scroll has no puzzle. If you obtained a clue bottle, geode or clue nest, open that item first to obtain the scroll. A clue nest needs a free inventory slot and leaves an empty bird's nest.
Comparing tiers
The table shows an ordinary reward claim before seasonal extra-roll effects. The coin range is the extra coin reward, in addition to anything drawn from the tier's item pool. Item rolls can repeat or stack, so they are not a promise of that many distinct inventory items.
| Tier | Reward package |
|---|---|
| Beginner | 1–3 item rolls, plus 10,000–20,000 coins. |
| Easy | 2–4 item rolls, plus 20,000–40,000 coins. |
| Medium | 3–5 item rolls, plus 80,000–160,000 coins. |
| Hard | 4–6 item rolls, plus 300,000–550,000 coins. |
| Elite | 4–6 item rolls, plus 300,000–550,000 coins. The item pool differs from Hard. |
| Master | 5–7 item rolls, plus 900,000–1,800,000 coins, with Bloodhound opportunities. |
Higher tiers have their own equipment and supply pools. A high tier does not guarantee a rare item. Use Sarim Hub's Drops tab to inspect the matching clue casket's item list.
Extra master clues
Each reward claim has a separate chance to add one master clue. It does not replace an item roll or the coin reward. Master clues can produce another master clue.
| Claimed tier | Extra master clue per claim |
|---|---|
| Beginner | 1/101 |
| Easy | 1/31 |
| Medium | 1/26 |
| Hard or Elite | 1/16 |
| Master | 1/11 |
Bloodhound
Each Master reward claim has an extra base 1/401 Bloodhound roll before pet boosts. Bloodhound is also a rare item in the Master reward pool. The 1/401 figure describes the separate pet roll, not the total chance across both routes.
Companion Seeker, the active pet drop scroll, donor pet bonuses and the Camel Statue pet boost improve the separate roll. They do not improve the weighted Bloodhound entry in the item pool. See Pets for delivery and reclaiming.
Obtaining more clues
- Monster drops: check the specific monster in Sarim Hub. Ordinary monsters can also roll bonus clues according to their combat level. Combat Achievements explains the tier bonuses and level bands.
- Mining: eligible successful mining actions can give easy, medium, hard or elite clue geodes. Open the geode, then Read the scroll.
- Fishing: successful catches can give clue bottles. The eligible bottle tier depends on the catch's Fishing requirement and whether you are fishing barehanded.
- Woodcutting: clue nests can fall from trees. Pick up and open the nest before reading its scroll.
- Other rewards: some boxes, chests and activity rewards include clues. Compare the actual reward source in Sarim Hub.
Cluebound improves supported acquisition rolls and can pick up eligible monster clues when there is inventory space. It does not improve the contents of a clue you already have. Its level-1 chance currently matches the unattached baseline, although auto-pickup still requires the attachment. Midas Touch can also collect nearby eligible clues.
Lucklocked has additional clue rewards and mode-specific acquisition rules. Keep acquisition bonuses separate from the item pool and the bonus master-clue roll.
Standalone reward caskets
A reward casket already in your inventory uses Open to generate the same tier's reward package. Opening it does not increase the completed-clue counter again.
Unlike instant Read, a standalone casket can be saved after awarding its loot when your total donated reaches these thresholds:
| Total donated | Chance to keep the casket per opening |
|---|---|
| Below $10 | None |
| $10–$99 | 1/21 |
| $100–$499 | 1/11 |
| $500–$2,499 | 1/9 |
| $2,500 or more | 1/6 |
A saved casket stays available for another opening. This does not save a clue scroll when you use Read. Caskets cannot be opened inside the Donation Boss arena.
Useful routine
Read clues during a safe bank stop. Hard, Elite and Master clues give much larger extra coin rewards than Beginner or Easy, but all tiers can add missing collection-log items. Open clue nests with space, unnote any supplies you plan to use, and collect Ultimate Ironman overflow before travelling away.
