Tormented Demons are demon monsters that drop tormented synapses and burning claws. Use ::tds to reach their cavern.

Fighting the demons

Bring at least two attack styles. A demon protects against one style at a time and changes its overhead after taking 500 damage, protecting against the style that reached the threshold. Switch away from its new overhead.

Use the matching protection prayer against its ordinary melee, Magic or Ranged attacks. The matching prayer reduces its ordinary maximum to 10 rather than blocking the attack completely. It periodically changes its attack style and throws two fire bombs: one at your position and one on a neighbouring tile. The spell briefly binds you and turns off run. Move clear of both landing tiles as soon as you can; a bomb can deal 55–80 damage.

Demonbane equipment and weapons with abyssal in their name avoid the active shield's 20% damage reduction. Switch weapons as its protection changes, and move clear of fire bombs while keeping up your attacks.

Tormented Demons count for Greater demon Slayer tasks. Assigned-location and Wilderness restrictions still apply.

Rewards

Use one synapse with the matching base item to make Emberlight, Scorching bow or Purging staff. Combine two singular burning claws to make Burning claws.

The table gives the chance from one ordinary NPC loot roll outside Gridmaster, at zero drop-rate bonus and without temporary boosts, Fortune Finder or reward-set bonuses. Guaranteed infernal ashes are separate. Extra loot rolls, drop doubling and Lucklocked conversion can change what you receive. Rare drops that pass their individual rolls take priority, then compete for one selected reward; the table includes that competition.
