Drop rate and boosts improve particular reward chances on Sarim. Your shared drop-rate bonus combines difficulty, equipment, permanent scrolls, donor rank and certain world bonuses. Attachments, perk sets, extra loot rolls and pet boosts have their own rules.
Before a farming trip
- Open Sarim Hub and look up the correct monster or reward source in Drops.
- Check your equipment and active player perks. A useful reward bonus must apply to the reward you are pursuing.
- Read a boost scroll's confirmation before consuming it. Permanent drop-rate scrolls, timed drop-rate scrolls, double-drop scrolls and pet scrolls do different things.
- Use the boss or activity guide for contribution requirements, deaths, points and separate reward rolls.
The Hub's drop-rate heading shows your shared bonus and whether the timed boost is active. A displayed rate is useful for choosing a target, but does not include every attachment, perk-set effect or reward condition. It is also not a guarantee after that many kills.
What adds to the shared bonus?
The following contributions add together, up to 95%. Equipment must be worn, and location or world bonuses require their stated condition.
| Contribution | Added bonus |
|---|---|
| Normal difficulty | 0% |
| Hard difficulty | 15% |
| Extreme difficulty | 20% |
| Ring of Sarim | 2% |
| Ring of loot | 4% |
| Ring of wealth (i) | 3%; the ordinary ring does not add this bonus. |
| Amulet of avarice | 5% |
| Permanent drop-rate scroll | Adds the scroll's 5% or 15% to your permanent bonus. |
| Active Camel Statue Drop Rate Boost | 5% |
| Skulled inside the Revenant cave | 15% |
Ring bonuses are alternatives because you can wear one ring. For example, Hard difficulty, a ring of loot and a redeemed permanent 5% scroll add up to 24%, before other contributions.
Donor rank contribution
Use the bonus for your current rank. The rows do not add together.
| Rank | Added shared drop rate | Timed drop-rate and double-drop duration |
|---|---|---|
| None | 0% | 1× |
| Donator | 0% | 1.05× |
| Super Donator | 2% | 1.10× |
| Elite Donator | 3% | 1.12× |
| Noble Donator | 5% | 1.15× |
| Gold Donator | 6% | 1.20× |
| Platinum Donator | 7% | 1.30× |
| Legendary Donator | 8% | 1.40× |
| Supreme Donator | 10% | 1.50× |
The cap applies to this shared balance. It does not combine all separate reward effects into a universal 95% limit. Redeeming a permanent scroll while already capped adds no immediate benefit to the capped balance.
What does a percentage mean?
For eligible ordinary monster loot and supported rare-table gates, 50% drop rate means a 1.5× chance multiplier. It does not add 50 percentage points to the reward's chance.
The Brimstone chest illustrates the difference. Its rare-table chance starts at 2% per opening. A 50% shared bonus raises that gate to 3%. The timed 5% drop-rate boost then raises it to 3.15%. Winning the rare-table roll still leads to a random item from that table.
Ordinary monster drops round their improved denominators up. Before attachment and perk-set bonuses, an eligible entry with a base gate of 1/80 becomes 1/54 with 50% shared drop rate, or 1/51 with that bonus and the timed boost. Small increases can therefore give the same rounded result.
Ordinary monster loot
Sarim improves ordinary monster-table chances before applying your personal bonus: divide a non-guaranteed entry's original denominator by 1.25, round up, and keep a minimum denominator of 2. An original 1/100 entry therefore starts at a base 1/80 before personal bonuses.
Shared drop rate then applies to entries originally listed as 1/50 or rarer. Guaranteed drops and common or uncommon entries do not receive that personal multiplier. The eligibility test uses the original entry, so a globally improved displayed rate below 1/50 can still qualify.
Fortune Finder and Gilded Fortune multiply eligible ordinary rare-drop chances separately. They do not increase the shared balance. Fortune Finder level 1 currently gives the same reward chance as having no attachment; use its guide to compare the extra benefit of later levels.
When several rare entries pass on the same loot roll, one is awarded. Successful rare entries take priority over ordinary loot. A chance to pass an individual entry is therefore different from its final chance of being the item you receive.
Keep these reward rules separate
| Reward or boost | What to check |
|---|---|
| Ordinary monster rare loot | Shared drop rate, timed 5% boost, Fortune Finder and Gilded Fortune apply at their respective stages. |
| Guaranteed drops and common loot | Shared drop rate does not improve their ordinary entry chances. |
| Raid purples | Raid Fortune, raid perks, points, invocation, deaths and the raid's own rules. The shared balance does not boost ordinary CoX, ToB or ToA purple rolls. |
| Pets | Pet chances use their own rules. Ordinary monster pets reduce their denominator using the shared bonus, rather than using the ordinary rare-loot multiplier. Read Pets and the source's guide. |
| Mystery boxes and clue rewards | The containers covered by Reward boxes and caskets and Clue scrolls use their own reward pools. Improving a monster's chance to drop a container does not automatically improve its contents. |
| Explicit rare-table gates | Content such as the Brimstone chest can apply shared drop rate directly to its rare gate. Follow that activity's rules. |
Timed scrolls
- Timed 5% drop-rate scroll: choose Activate and confirm. It adds 60 minutes before the donor duration bonus. Further scrolls add time. On eligible rare loot, it multiplies the shared chance bonus by another 1.05. It does not add five points to the shared balance. The Vote Point Store sells it for 4 vote points.
- Double-drop scroll: choose Read and confirm. It adds 30 minutes before the donor duration bonus. On the ordinary monster path it doubles the current standard loot-roll count at that stage. It does not double guaranteed drops, the separate pet roll or every activity reward. Later extra-roll sources can still add rolls after the doubling.
- Pet drop scroll: choose Activate and confirm. It lasts 24 hours and cannot be activated while another pet boost is running. It improves supported pet rolls, rather than normal item loot. See Pets.
Timed drop-rate and double-drop scrolls extend time when used again; they do not repeatedly multiply the same bonus. Check the remaining-time message when you log in.
Choosing useful bonuses
Pick the reward first. For ordinary rare equipment, compare shared drop rate, Fortune Finder and Gilded Fortune against the combat strength you would give up. For a raid unique, use its raid-specific setup. For a pet, use the source's pet rules.
More kills per trip can be useful alongside a reward bonus. A ring with a small drop bonus is not automatically a better farming choice than the ring that lets you finish the fight consistently.

Gridmaster seasonal drops
Gridmaster uses a separate seasonal rare-drop rule on World 2. Eligible native rare NPC rolls and the three raids' unique gates receive an eightfold chance boost, capped at a guaranteed successful gate. Ordinary extra loot rolls and rare-drop bonus stacks do not compound with that seasonal rule.
Pet rolls retain their native seasonal rules; Chambers of Xeric’s boosted unique gate creates more Olmlet opportunities. See Gridmaster rates for the eligibility threshold, table-selection limits, raids and pet conditions.
